This isn’t a comprehensive guide on how to make characters or worlds, obviously, since that can’t just be told to someone in one sitting. Seriously, Tolkien didn’t just sit down and crap out Middle-Earth in ten minutes, and Rowling didn’t put Hogwarts together over a single cup of tea. There are some things to keep in mind, though.
Just to get it out of the way, do not use character generators. Don’t do it.
This is a character generator. Basically what it does is just spew out a few random personality traits (they make them for appearance, too, though). To be very blunt, if a character is important enough to have a describable concept other than a familial relationship or a job (for instance, uncle Joe or the barista aren’t particularly important) then they deserve to have at least a little thought put into them.
