This week we celebrated UNESCO’s World Book Day “to recognize the power of books to change our lives for the better and to support books and those who produce them.” The Bookant and friends can get behind that, so I did some checking. For very young readers, there is a delightful set of video books by Rod Campbell, whose chunky cardboard books feature flaps that open to advance the simple story. Campbell’s stories of animals and children are narrated and animated simply. Videos run about two or three minutes long and feature pictures and words right from the books along with sound effects and a lovely British-accented voice-over.
